Critter Safari
SkyBlock's first island built entirely around Hunting. You enter on a ticket rather than a warp, alone or with up to three others, and work four biomes for critters rather than kills — Critters cannot be damaged, only hunted.
A note on the name
Pre-release material called this the Safari Zone. The live release calls it the Critter Safari, and the game’s own item ids follow suit. Both names refer to the same island; SkyFuse uses the live one.
Getting in
Earn a Safari Ticket by placing highly in Miria's contests, then take the blimp from the Safari Entrance on the right-hand side of Torrhus Canyon.
Entry is by ticket rather than by warp. You may go alone or bring up to three others, and the tickets themselves come from placing highly in Miria’s Starlyn Contests back on Torrhus Canyon.
The four biomes
- Four biomes: Icy, Canyon, Forest and Haunted.
- Entry is by ticket, solo or in a group of up to four.
- Each biome's Milestones grant a different stat: Icy gives Cold Resistance, Forest gives Foraging Fortune, Haunted gives Hunting Fortune, and Canyon increases Rarity and grants Hunting Wisdom.
- Andrea by the Safari Entrance tracks your Milestone progress.
- Every Critter has a 1 in 4,096 chance to spawn Sparkling: 10x rewards and a Rainbow Feather.
- Tobias' Sparkling Critterdex tracks all 37 sparkling variants for cosmetic rewards.
Sparkling Critters
Every Critter has a base 1 in 4,096 chance of spawning as a Sparkling variant, marked by a different colour scheme, a SPARKLING prefix and a trail that follows it. A Sparkling Critter grants ten times the normal rewards and drops a Rainbow Feather, which raises any pet’s level by one without exceeding its cap.
Finish the base Critterdex and Tobias opens the Sparkling Critterdex — an optional hunt for all 37 sparkling variants, rewarded with cosmetics and carrying no SkyBlock XP.
Hunting changes that matter here
- Every Pest now drops its own shardFly, Cricket, Locust, Rat, Mosquito, Mite, Moth, Firefly, Dragonfly and Field Mouse each have a guaranteed shard. Termite became Earthworm and Pest became Field Mouse; Slug became Keeled Slug and Beetle became Cropeetle.
- Critter stamina now scales with shard rarityOne stamina bar for a COMMON shard through five for a LEGENDARY, with bar colours following the item rarity system.
- Hunting gear gained shard-type bonusesEntangler Lasso grants +2.5 Hunting Fortune on Forest shards, the Medium Fishing Net +2.5 on Water shards, and the Pocket Black Holes +2.5 and +5 on Combat shards.
- Two fusions became GenericCropeetle no longer needs Invisibug + Pest, and Praying Mantis no longer needs Pest + Combat. Both are now Generic fusions.
Progression
- Hunting to 50
- The Hunting skill cap doubled from 25 to 50, confirmed by the live skills resource. Hunter Fortune was renamed Hunting Fortune.
- Charm Chance
- Now an official Hunting stat. Like Sea Creature Chance and Treasure Chance it scales 0%–100%, raising the chance that a viable mob drops an Attribute Shard.
- Critterdex and Safari Milestones
- Each biome's Milestones grant a different stat: Icy gives Cold Resistance, Forest gives Foraging Fortune, Haunted gives Hunting Fortune, and Canyon increases Rarity while granting Hunting Wisdom. The Critterdex records catches, and a separate Sparkling Critterdex tracks all 37 sparkling variants.
The shard economy after this update
Hunting critters is how Attribute Shards enter the economy, and this release added 131 new shard products to the Bazaar — taking the total from 189 to 320. Every one of them is tradable and priced live on the Shard Market.
What SkyFuse will not do is guess their fusion recipes. Hypixel has never published fusion data, so these shards are shown with real prices and no invented recipe, rarity or attribute family.
What SkyFuse does not claim yet
This release added far more than Hypixel publishes machine-readable data for. Rather than fill the difference with guesses, the gaps are listed here and marked as unverified wherever they appear on the site.
- Fusion recipes for the 131 new shardsHypixel publishes no fusion recipe data through any API, and the release notes document recipe changes only for two pre-existing shards. SkyFuse claims no recipe it cannot source.
- Rarity and attribute family for the new shardsThe items resource carries a single generic Attribute Shard, so per-shard rarity is not published. The release notes give ids for nine shards only, in passing.
- Textures for new shards and itemsThe official SkyBlock resource pack has not been redeployed since 22 July 2026, so no live texture exists for this release yet.
- Display names for 111 of the 131 new shardsA Bazaar id does not reliably give a shard's name — SHARD_SEA_ARCHER is Bogged and SHARD_NIGHT_SQUID is Inkling. Names taken from the ids are labelled as derived rather than presented as confirmed.
